Well, this is a first: I'm singing in a men's chorus! ...sort of. I will be joining forces with Voci Virili Men's Consort in their upcoming performance, "Call to Remembrance: 500 Years of English Sacred Music" this Friday evening at 7pm at Christ Church Episcopal. Our dress rehearsal was tonight, and what a wonderful concert it will be! It is always a pleasure connecting with musicians in the Chattanooga area and being among the first to hear new works by local composers! Did I mention it's free?

Come hear Chattanooga's own Voci Virili Men's Consort sing sacred music of the English church and concert hall, written or transcribed for men's chorus in the vibrant acoustic of Christ Church - Episcopal in downtown Chattanooga. Anthems, choruses, arias, duets, and ensembles by Byrd, Tallis, Farrant, Purcell, Handel, Stainer, Gaul, Elgar, Parry, and Willan. Featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Five Mystical Songs" with baritone Christopher Oglesby and the premiere of the newly-commissioned "Evening Service for Men's Voices in F Major" by local composing wunderkind Ethan McGrath.
Guest singers include sopranos Caitlin Hammon, Sarah Marczynski, Beth Nichols, and Rachel Cooke; mezzo-sopranos Jennifer Chesney Allen and Sara Snider Schone; and contraltos Penny Tullock and Kelly Stultz.
